Belated Thanksgiving Post

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Although we wish we could have seen our family we instead got to spend it with our Mikonda Dr. Family. These 4 wonderful friends have truly become our family over the past 2 years of med school, we are truly thankful for their friendship. I guess I shouldn't say 4 friends, I should add the other 2 in....6 friends. Have you figured it out yet??? We have exciting news, there's going to be a new kid on the block- Aubrey is going to have another boyfriend!!!!!!!!!!! Our friends Colleen and Chuck are expecting a baby on April 14 and they just found IT'S A BOY!!!! Chuck is calling him Nigel for now as a joke. I don't know what Aubrey is going to do with all of these boys around.
The girls and our babies! Including Nigel!

Aubrey's First Thanksgiving! We ate at our house and we had a wonderful spread of food. Michael did the honors of cooking our turkey since he's an amazing chef. It was delicious, so was his sweet potatoes (Aubrey loooved the sweet potatoes full of sweet condensed milk, hmmm I wonder why).

We had such a relaxing weekend and did a lot of eating, lounging arond, and watching football. We had leftovers dinner on Friday and then even had a snack night Saturday at the Fishers.
Aubrey had her first bath with Aidan, I knew this night was going to come some day. Dad was not very happy about it, but aren't they sooooo cute!

Our Saturday football day....

And our Sunday football.....And this is how we all felt by the end of the weekend. Worn out!!!

And the reason it took me so long to post is because I've been out of commission for a few days. I went back to the OB because I was still having some problems with what I had gone to see that surgeon about, well good thing is Dr. Vick was able to fix everything we think. Bad thing is I had about 10-15 injections in places there shouldn't be so I've been very sore this week...not fun.

We also got some bad news that Kyle's grandma had a stroke this week and was taken to the hospital and had surgery to remove the clot. We were able to talk to her the other night and she sounded like she was doing much better. She was moved to a rehabilitation center and so we're praying that she's going to make a full recovery from the stroke. It's hard being so far away and not being able to see her but we're thankful that we were at least able to talk to her.

Grandma Visit

My mom came to visit this past weekend and we had a great time. We went to Mt. Juliet and got Aubrey's pictures taken. She is also the photographer behind some of those family pictures I posted and my assistant in the Aubrey pics. She saw Aubrey in bed with a boy!!!! Ahhh, Kyle is mad about this picture. I love Aidan's face, because Aubrey was squelling and Aidan was just looking at her like what is she doing!
Our Grey's Anatomy breakfast, we lounged around and Aubrey even watched Grey's. We start em young.

LOVE this picture!!
Reading Aubrey the recordable book she got her, we love it. Thanks Grandma. Oh and she's also wearing an outfit we got that says Grandma makes me happy but she pooped on it every time we put it on her so I don't know what that means exactly.

Our late night outside outlet shopping. It was cold outside so we had to throw a blanket over her. Aubrey is the best shopper ever. She didn't fuss one bit.
Aubrey doesn't like to eat or anything.

We had a fun time beating Kyle at Words with Friends and can you tell we're competitive I mean I even took a picture. I think this will be the last time I beat him so I had to have soem proof.

Grandma slept in Aubrey's room and got up with her in the middle of the night!!! Thanks Grandma for a few great nights of sleep. Aubrey was her little snuggle bug.
We had a backseat babysitter and it was so cute to watch Grandma sing Aubrey to sleep after church.

Thanks mom for coming and we can't wait for the next visit from Grandma! Love you more than the hot chocolate I'm drinking right now :)

Banana Neck

I know, weird post title but it's exactly what happened. After eating bananas the other night, Aubrey had them all over her neck. Kyle said they looked like big moles. It was pretty funny. Here's our moley banana child, you can barely tell but in person it looked a lot bigger.

Mommy Monday

So this happened the other day and definitely ONLY happens if you're a mom....f you can't tell, let me zoom in so you can see closer. If you still haven't figured it out yet. Aubrey has poopy foot. Aubrey pooped while in her bouncer. I was getting ready in the bathroom and she was just bouncing away (this is our usual morning routine) and then I heard her poop. I didn't realize the extent of the pooping until about 5 minutes later when I went to get her out. She had somehow pooped all the way down to the foot of her pajamas. She got a little bit on her butt but it was actually impressive how the majority was in her foot part. She even danced it into the carpet and I had to clean that up too. I didn't even know where to start so I left her in there until I had a plan of attack. She went straight into the bath tub and got all cleaned up, well after I of course took these 2 pictures and texted it to Kyle and a few other people. Kimberly texted me back and said I was awful for letting my daughter marinate in her own poop while I took a picture. I told her I had to otherwise Kyle wouldn't have believed that it actually happened.

Oh how I miss Harrogate

I never thought I would have said that, but I miss Harrogate. We went back last week for a honors ceremony where Kyle was inducted into Alpha Chi. We are so proud of him and were glad we got to visit with friends at church.
Kyle and one of his teachers, Dr. Wieting.
Kyle being inducted. Virginia was a great babysitter throughout church and had a hard time putting her down. Aubrey just smiled and loved getting so much attention. We also visited with Mildred who I used to sing in the choir with. Mildred's birthday is June 24th which was Aubrey's due date so she said her birthday present came early. It was so good seeing her. We also got to stop by Becky and Ryan's and visit with them and the girls. We can't wait for the next visit back to Harrogate!!

Christmas Cards

After going to a portrait studio to get Aubrey’s pictures taken we received 9 free greeting cards with the package. Well I think we have more than 9 family and friends that we want to send a Christmas card to this year so after seeing this on my friend Megan’s blog, Dinos are not Extinct. I thought it was a great idea. 50 free picture Christmas cards just for writing about Shutterfly on your blog. That’s easy enough. Shutterfly is a wonderful, easy to use website that I've ordered pictures from before. I'm excited to order Christmas cards from this year and not to mention how affordable they will be. They also have some great gift ideas and we may just get something since Aubrey is pretty cute to put on an ornament, mug, or even a calendar. The fun part was taking the pictures to put on this card since obviously I can’t steal the pictures from the portrait studio so we decided to make our own portrait studio at the Fisher’s apartment. There wasn’t even a sitting fee, haha. We got Aubrey all dolled up and took some pictures. They turned out great, now the hard part is deciding which ones to use.

Then since I told Kyle I was going to use the family Halloween picture of us dressed as the Flinstones if he doesn't agree to taking more pictures, he agreed to taking some after church. We took some family shots by an old building in downtown that I had seen a photographer taking some senior pictures at. So I stole the location and I'm glad I did. I know it's not the usual sit in front of a Christmas tree pictures, but I like things different and I love how they turned out.
So if you want a great deal you can blog about Shutterfly’s Christmas cards and get 50 free too!! Just click here. You can also share on twitter or facebook here.
