Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

Well the snow hit Friday night and we really didn't believe that it was going to actually do what they were saying. They had said 6-10" and we did actually wind up getting about 7 inches. We just stayed in the house and stayed warm all weekend. Our church even got cancelled today. Kyle somehow got a snow day tomorrow so I'm crossing my fingers to get one too. Here are a few pictures of our house with snow and Bailey outside in the snow, she loves the snow. She wasn't so sure about it the first time she went out and that's the video on here, Kyle's yelling out because that's how he gets her to go to the bathroom. I sure hope he doesn't yell out to our daughter when we're trying to potty train her. Well back to being lazy on our snow day. Correction.....NEITHER OF US HAVE SCHOOL!!! Gotta love being a teacher!

Baby Bump

Here's a picture of me at 17 weeks and my baby bump is growing! I'm starting to get the belly rubs and it's kind of weird, but cute. I had a 8th grader come up to me tonight and just rub my belly and ask how the baby was doing, it was kind of cute. Kyle looked at me the other night and said I was huge. He said he thinks I'm going to get big fast, but we'll see. We go next Thursday to find out if we're having a boy or girl, we can't wait!

So I use a Who Wants to be a Millionaire game to review with my 5th and 6th graders and the other night I look over at Kyle and saw this. It was Kyle reviewing for a test with a Who Wants to be a Millionaire game his teacher made (sound and all). I just started laughing that med students play a game that I play in my classroom. He was so into it. He took the test today, so we'll see if it helped him.

The verdict is in annnnddd we're headed to......

We got our #1 out of 50 choices, which is amazing. Like the picture, it's called the golf capital of Tennessee because they have 11 championship golf courses (Kyle's going to love that). Kyle will start June 28th (our anniversary) doing his Behavioral Health/Psycology rotation which will be great because he won't have on call hours for that rotation. We're really hoping that baby Toti is organized and goes along with our schedule and comes on time, but we'll just wait and see. He then does a month of Pediatrics and will do about 3 months of internal medicine after that. We actually have a schedule for the next 2 years of our life!! Yay!!!! There is a possibility we may live in a town about 20-30 min. from Crossville called Cookeville, TN. We visited Cookeville over Christmas break and really loved the town.

Now for the story of how we found out, because it was crazy. We were told we would find out on Friday and I kept e-mailing and texting Kyle all day asking if he found out yet. We didn't find out by 5:00 and I was headed to work basketball games Friday and Kyle went up to a game night with a few other med students and med student wives. I started getting texts at about 7:00 from med student wives saying that people were finding out, so I start freaking out and wonder where we'll be going. Well I call Kyle and find out that the system the school used was closed for the night but one person knew where they were all going so if they wanted to find out just hit reply to some e-mail and this guy will e-mail the rotations out. Of course, Kyle hits reply but then the drama unfolds. This guy started alphabetically sending e-mails letting people know where they are going. By the time I got done with basketball at 10:00 we still didn't know where we were going but our good friends Chuck and Colleen had already found out they were going to Crossville (our #1). Kyle said game night was so tense, the guys had their phones out looking at their phones every few minutes. They were even messing with each other and sending e-mails to each other that just said rotations, they're so mean to each other.

Finally after basketball us and 2 other couples (Chuck and Colleen, Michael and Alarie- who all wanted to go to Crossville too) decided to hang out until we all found out. Well Michael and Alarie found out at about 10:30 they were headed to Crossville and that's when I started going crazy. Good thing I'm pregnant otherwise I would've needed a strong scotch or something (and I don't drink scotch). Finally at around 11:00 Kyle screamed and came into the room we were all in and said we got our #1 pick we were all headed to Crossville!!! It was a nerve wracking night but in the end all of us girls were so excited to have each other in the same town. I've become really good friends with these women and it's amazing to have someone that understands exactly what you're going with whether it's grouchy med student husband during test time, no money when you're waiting for loans, and so much more. Michael and Alarie are even expecting their first baby 5 days after us, so we'll have friends that have no idea what they're doing either. Oh, and our babies will have instant friends! So all in all we're headed to Crossville, Tn which is about 2 1/2 hours form where we live.

We're going to miss all of our friends that we've made here. I'm going to miss my school that I work at, all the kids and teachers. We're really going to miss our church family that we've grown so close to. We have trust in God that this is his plan for us and we're excited to start the next 2 years in our lives in a new town.

He or She is a moving!

We had exciting news last week! I felt the baby move for the first time!!! We got home from our doctor's appointment and I was making tacos and all of a sudden I grabbed Kyle's arm and he was like what??? I didn't say anything, all I did was just stand there because it was soooo weird. We decided he or she must like Mexican since we were making Tacos, maybe we should use pablo as a nursery deccoration. I thought I felt the baby a weekend before but it was more like a punch and I'm pretty sure now that that's not what I was feeling. This was amazing...weird, but amazing. It felt like a wave in my stomach or like a ripple. I've gotten to feel the baby most nights now, he or she seems to like to dance around at about 9:00 pm. Kyle has tried to feel him or her but it's not strong enough yet. I told him or her yesterday that once they get out they better not be a night baby but for right now he or she is definitely a night baby. When the baby moves I think of it doing little dance moves in there, kind of like this...

Kyle has been able to hear the heartbeat (faint) but he still heard it with his stethoscope, which was neat since he can't feel him or her at least he can hear his little one. We are so excited to be going back to the doctor on January 28th to find out if we're having a little baby girl or boy. We're still split for right now, I'm thinking girl and Kyle is thinking boy so we'll see. Kyle said once he knows the sex he thinks it will become a lot more "real". It still doesn't feel real sometimes for me, but now that I'm feeling little Frederick it's definitely becoming a lot more real. Once we find out the sex we will definitely be sharing that news on our blog, so be watching around the 28th. We aren't 100% sure on names yet so we're still waiting on those to see him or her again and see if anything just clicks. Well we have exciting news coming up this month with finding out where we will be living and what we will be having....definitely lots to look forward to!

Christmas Decorations down until next year...

Well the Christmas decorations finally were packed away today. I had Friday, Monday, and kind of today off and I waited until today because I spent my weekend praying to the porcelain gods. This is my second time getting sick while pregnant. The first time was back before we came home for Christmas and I got a really bad cold and then passed it on to Kyle. I am glad to say I didn't pass this one on to him, yay! I went to a birthday party for one of my friends and came back with a horrible flu, it was awful. The doctor said at my last visit I lost a pound and I have a feeling with this flu I haven't added any and probably lost some, I only ate 1 piece of toast Saturday because that's all I could keep down. I definitely do not like the pregnant and sick combination....NOT FUN!!

Ok, now back to the Christmas decorations. It was weird to put them away and not know where we will be putting them back out next Christmas. We find out in 3 days on FRIDAY where Kyle will be doing his rotations at come June. We're very excited/nervous/anxious to find out where we will be living and where our baby will be the first 2 years of his or her life. We've put down our top 3 choices which are:

1. Crossville, TN- About an hour and half from Nashville, we went and visited and looked at Crossville and another city nearby called Cookeville. We really liked the area of Cookeville which is about a half hour from Crossville and only an hour from Nashville. It was a larger town than we're at now and it's a college town to Tennessee Tech. No Target, but only 30 min. from an outlet mall and 45 from a Target. (It's sad I based our rotations around Target, haha)

2. Morristown, TN- This is a town that is only about 45 min. away from the town we're at now and its about a half hour from Knoxville. This is a cute town that we've gone to many times since we've lived here, they don't have a Target but it does have CIVILIZATION.

3. Sweetwater, TN- This is a very small town about 30 min. away from Turkey Creek (which is a suburb of Knoxville, kind of like the Chesterfield Valley area of Knoxville...very, very nice). This would be a great place too for Kyle to be at, he just would have to travel a bit for some of the hospitals that they are involved with.

Well, that's our run down and we'll find out where our address will switch to in June on Friday, maybe even where we will have our first child (depending when he or she decides to arrive, hopefully not too early and not too late). We prayed over our choices and we are putting faith in God that he will put is the place he feels we will grow the most as a family.

Christmas Festivities

We had an amazing time visiting family and friends for Christmas. We are grateful to have spent so much time with our families who we love and miss so much. We were spent about 10 days up in Missouri/Illinois visiting. On the way back to Harrogate, we drove through Memphis, Crossville/Cookeville, and Sweetwater/Lenoir City to look at some of the rotation sites Kyle could start the clinical part of med school in June (just a reminder, he starts 4 days after my due date, fun fun). After a lot of consideration we put in for a "lottery" of choices last night and we will find out next Friday where we will be come June. We have been praying that God places us where he wants us, your prayers during this stressful, exciting, nervous time would be greatly appreciated. Here are a couple of pictures from Christmas of my ever-growing baby bump and then below those is a video I found I could make on picasa. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and I will be 16 weeks. Our next appointment we will find out if Baby Toti is a boy or a girl!!! We're very excited. On the right side of our website you can vote if you think baby Toti (or Frederick) is going to be a boy or girl.
