Watchin the babes

I watched Aidan the other morning and Aubrey had a blast just hanging out with her boyfriend. We move the coffee table in the living room during the day and throw down this huge, soft blanket my mom made for Aubrey and play on during the day. We usually put the place back together before Kyle gets home so he doesn't have to walk into a world of baby toys and blankets everywhere. Aubrey and Aidan are actually noticing each other now and will just stare at each other or grab hands or shirts or whatever they can reach while playing. I was pretty impressed with myself. I got both of the babies asleep AT THE SAME TIME!! Aubrey fell asleep on the boppy and then I rocked Aidan to sleep and put him down. I even got some time to get on the computer. I sent Kyle and my mom a picture message with them both asleep and said, "Just call me God, they are BOTH asleep." Pretty proud of myself, just saying. Aidan was too cute, he has much stronger legs than Aubrey and likes to stand. He was smiling away when I would pull him towards me and then he'd push off my hands and slide himself back on the blanket. He went shooting back because the blanket has silk on the other side. We love our neighbor baby and are so thankful there's another baby and mommy to play with during the day.

Sewing Mama

I'm finally back to sewing. I went on a little vacation since I've had Aubrey but I got my machine out the other day and I finally finished some projects I said I was going to do. We both got something new to wear. Here's Aubrey with a pumpkin onesie I made with felt.

Mine was my first ever "refashion"- taking something old and making it much, much cuter. I had this cardigan sweater that I've had forever and don't wear anymore. I cut off the sleeves and shortened it to make it short sleeves. I used this tutorial. It was pretty much the same way I made these baby legs a while ago and it was super easy.
The sleeves were funky anyway and now this made it much cuter and I'll actually wear it now. Well then I had all of this fabric from the two sleeves so hmmmm what to do. I made these rosettes and even cut up a cheap pearl bracelet and added pearls. I actually like it now :) Who would have thought I could make something you never ever wear into something I want to wear all the time now. It works great with my nursing camis underneath too. I have a couple more crafty projects up my sleeve (that is my sleeve that I cut off, haha, what would a post be without an awful "Amanda joke"). Anyway, couple more projects that I'll post pictures once I finish them.

Yummy Mail

I received a package in the mail from my friend Jessica (have I told you how much I like getting packages in the mail, like I get giddy like a school girl, even letters....anything except bills) and in it were these adorable and delicious cookies. They were almost too cute to eat but my sweet tooth caved.
Aubrey was wearing a hand me down dress from her cousin Josalyn and I'm so sad that it's taken this long to finally become "fall". We have been in the 90s for the past month and today it finally got down to 70 so I broke out this cute dress because it won't fit for long. It's a 0-3 month and I'm wishing it was bigger so it would get more wear time.

That's all for now, I'm off to finish some sewing projects. Main word...FINISH! I usually start stuff or say I'm going to start projects and never get around to actually doing them or starting them. Let's just say baby AND mommy are getting a new shirt, and no they aren't matching. Come on, I'm not that big of a dork.

Don't Look at Me

So Aubrey's new thing is to cover her face with a blanket when trying to fall asleep. She was trying to fall asleep when I was cleaning up dinner and she lifted the blanket over her face. I didn't want her suffocating so of course I pulled it down. Well she decided it was too bright or something becaues she lifted it right back up. So after this game for a few minutes I just let her fall asleep. I sat there right by her and made sure she was still breathing and I could still hear her loud sucking of the pacifier. I thought this was just a one time thing, but nope when I was bringing in groceries, I came in and found this...
It's kind of cute, but scary that she puts blankets over her head. I've stopped putting a blanket on her during naps and at night, just in case.
Kyle gave Aubrey a bath the other night and came out with this..
if you can't tell he gave her a full blown out mowhawk. It even lasted into the morning and I woke up to a little rockstar.

Passed Out Ballerina

So this picture pretty much sums up this post. Aubrey passed out on the floor the other day in this ridiculously cute ballerina outfit Aunt Kathy got for her. She will fall asleep anywhere (just like her mama)- the floor, the couch, her bouncer, her swing, etc. The great thing about it too is she'll fall asleep completely by herself. I love to rock her to sleep, but this little one usually doesn't need it. She just falls asleep on her own. Isn't she cute?

Looove this onesie

So I got crafty the other day and made a onesie that I have been dying to make for a while now. It's a faux necklace onesie that I got the idea from Samster Mommy and she's got the tutorial on her website, but it was super easy. Some velveteen puff paint (yeah, had no clue what this was and it is softer than puff paint after you steam it with an iron), a pencil, a ribbon, and needle and thread and wa-la...Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen. Oh and I made the headband out of an old tank top, not the bow just the headband part. She loves being my little model.

Happy 3 Months!

Dear Baby Girl,
I can not believe you already 3 months old. Time has flown by already and I know it will continue to fly. I have tried to take mental pictures throughout these first 3 months.
-The happy satisfied look on your face after nursing you.
-The smiles I get on your changing table.
-The giggles I get when you laugh at some silly ridiculous sound I make.
-The loving look you give your daddy and the smile that lets him know you love him even though you can't say it.
-The way the minute a pacifier goes in your mouth your feet stop moving and if you take it out you start kicking away.
-The stretching, oh the stretching...I love your 10 minute wakeup routine, it might be my favorite- I can't believe how long you look too when you stretch all the way out.

I love you more and more every day and even though I don't want you to get any bigger (please stay teeny tiny, it's so cute and fun) I'm excited to see what the next couple of months bring. Thank you for making my heart grow by about 5 billion times.

Love you more than chocolate,

Mom

Here's some pictures of you at 3 months, definitely think you might be the cutest baby in the world, although we are way biased.

Harrogate Visit

We went to Harrogate last week to visit with school friends and church friends. We stayed at our friend Becky's house and she has a little girl that's a week and a half older than Aubrey. Alarie and Aidan went along with us. We had a great time and I never thought in a million years that I would miss that place as much as I do. The friendships we have there are great and we miss the people from Harrogate so much. We also miss our church family A LOT. We are still trying to find our church home here but we definitely miss having such a tight bond with all of the people from First Christian.
Our favorite principal!! I miss you Dr. Lynch friend! Aubrey was a little celebrity to say the least. All of the teachers and kids at J Frank loved seeing her and I loved seeing them. I miss them so much and it was great to go back and visit and I look forward to the next time we can go back. Aubrey was so good and flashed her big smile to all the kids and J Frank and LMU people. We went all over campus and I was exhausted by the end of the day. We were treated to lunch by my friend Kim, the assistant principal at J Frank and Christine who I used to go to her yoga class. We went up to the library and saw all of our favorite librarians and even went to DCOM to say hello to the doctors and office ladies.

We went to First Christian for youth and choir and then even went over to Alarie's choir.

Celia, our amazing maternity photographer. She is such a talented young lady.

Our friend Duke and Amy's little boy Trey was fascinated by Aubrey. He especially liked her bow. It was so cute to see them touching and grabbing each other. Trey even took Aubrey's sock off, WATCH OUT. I told Duke and Amy if they find Kyle on their front porch with a shot gun don't be surprised, he doesn't want any boys after his little girl, haha.Virginia was waiting at the door for us and snatched the car seat from my hand. They practically had to pry her out of her arms. We miss you Virginia!!Larissa was giving Aubrey kisses.Mildred's birthday was on Aubrey's due date and was hoping to have the same birthday as Aubrey but she just didn't wait.We had a fabulous dinner and hung out at the pool at Alarie's Charlie and Mary' (their great friends from church). Mary got to love on all the babies.
Aidan's first dip in the pool.A little big but it still did the job. Then we ended our great trip with a baby slumber party at Becky's. I was sad to leave but glad to get back to Kyle. He was working midnights so it worked out perfectly and we even got his computer fixed while we were there. I can't wait until we can go back for another visit.

Oh and if you can't read Aidan's shirt, it says Chicks dig me....only 12 weeks old and already a chick magnet.

Ma, Look What I Found

Aubrey has started trying to suck her thumb and she has a hoover vacuum for a mouth so we're trying to take it out and put a pacifier back in. I figure we can take away a pacifier but can't take her thumb away.

Toti Labor Day Visit

Kyle's family came to visit last weekend and we had a great time. Kyle unfortunately had to work Sunday night and had started on midnights but we at least got him during the day. Here are a few pictures from last weekend. Hanging out with Aunt Erika.
She was pooping while taking this picture. Erika was flipping out.I L L- I N I Watching the Illinois/Mizzou game and too bad it was 7 Mizzou fans against 1 1/2 Illinois fans and too bad we lost. Alarie's mom and dad were in town and they are all Missouri fans too so that's where more Mizzou fans came from.Aubrey's first bonfire with S'mores.

Awesome Video

Caution: May cause tears if you are at all hormonal, haha. I saw this video on a blog I read Dear Baby and I loved it so much I wanted to share it with my momma friends that read my blog. I was a teary mess while watching this and holding Aubrey, and I'm not even talking about the cute cry with a couple of tears. I'm talking full out mess. Dear Baby said it perfectly, the creation of a new little life, never, ever gets old.

Just Call Me Betty

Betty Crocker that is. I decided since I was going to turn on my oven during this hotness I would get use out of baking several things. Left over bananas turned into banana bread, Dr. Pepper turned into a Dr.Peppper cake (I know it sounds weird, but it's actually pretty good), and Bisquick turned into the quickest easiest chicken pot pie. So cooking with a 2 month old is interesting. Alarie and I have talked about how babies are soooooo unpredictable. As soon as Aubrey shuts her eyes I don't know if it's going to be a 30 min. snooze or a 2 hour snooze. I lucked out and she took a nap the exact amount of time to finish baking. She was a nice calm assistant in the kitchen napping in her bouncer. Here's my proud display of baking and seriously not kidding you, super proud for accomplishing this. I had the bread going in the oven and prepped the cake just in time to put in with the bread. Seriously when I have something planned and I actually get it done, it's very impressive. Oh, the joys of motherhood what you are excited about completely changes.

My wonderful baker's assistant, waking up happy just in time.

Baby Laugh

Aubrey started laughing this week and it is the cutest thing ever. I tried all day today to get her on video but as soon as I would start the video she'd stop and just stare at my camera. I realized she was looking at the red light. So after some deceiving, mama figured it out. I put my finger over the light and would also put it down so she didn't see the camera. So I wish I had a video of me trying to make her laugh, the sounds I make are absolutely ridiculous. So here she is...
